Former WFAA anchor Macie Jepson lands at WEWS Cleveland

Former WFAA 8 anchor Macie Jepson was laid off from the Belo station in 2008. Since then, I've had a lot of Dallas-Fort Worth readers stop by my blog looking for news on her. Well, three years later, here we go. Jepson has just been hired as the new anchor for Good Morning Cleveland at WEWS TV NewsChannel5.

Jepson, who is now going as Macie McInnis Jepson, used to be an anchor at WJW Fox 8 Cleveland in the 90s. Guess she was Macie McInnis at some point back then (although in the old video embedded above, she is clearly Jepson). She later went on to work at KTBS and KNOE in Louisiana.

At WFAA, Jepson served as the 5pm anchor and reporter who covered the medical beat. She earned the “Medical Reporter of the Year” honor from the March of Dimes, as well as the 2006 American Women in Radio and Television “Personality of the Year” award.

“Announcing Macie as one of our morning news anchors is another step in strengthening this very important news daypart,” NewsChannel5 News Director Jill Manuel said on the station's website. “Many viewers already know Macie, and her knowledge of the people, places, and things that matter to Northeast Ohioans will be advantageous to everyone who engages with NewsChannel5 in the morning on-air, online and through our social media platforms.”

Jepson will start at WEWS in late November and join meteorologist Christine Ferreira, traffic Anchor/reporter Alicia Roberts and another co-anchor soon to be announced.
