Jay Michaels named Mix 102.9 KDMX program director

Clear Channel Dallas made the announcement this afternoon that former Houston, Austin and Dallas radio guy Jay Michaels will be a DJ and program director on Mix 102.9 KDMX in Dallas-Fort Worth:

Dallas, TX: Clear Channel Radio Dallas announced today that Jay Michaels has been named KDMX / Mix 102.9 Program Director, effective immediately.

"We’re thrilled about Jay’s return to DFW. We are looking forward to having his energy and breadth of experience at Mix 102.9 and as part our Dallas cluster,” says Kelly Kibler, President and Market Manager, Clear Channel Radio Dallas.

Patrick Davis, Operation Manager, Clear Channel Radio Dallas, adds “Jay is creative, hard working and very smart. He will be a great addition to our Clear Channel Dallas programming team!”

Michaels, a UT graduate, brings with him 20 years of radio programming experience including stints in Austin, Houston and most recently Norfolk, Virginia. He is also no stranger to Dallas, having been Music Director for KDGE – FM (sister station to KDMX – FM) in the mid-90s.

"I am so excited to be joining the Clear Channel family and returning to Texas to program a heritage radio station like KDMX and its successful digital platforms. Working with Kelly Kibler, Patrick Davis and the entire Dallas team is such an incredible opportunity, I am ready to continue the great work that has been established on Mix 102.9."

In addition to his programming duties, Michaels will host middays from 9am-3pm every weekday. Jay will be in the office and behind the mic on Mix 102.9 this week.
