ESPN 97.5 KFNC has announced it is the new Houston radio play by play affiliate home for The University of Texas Longhorns.

"The UT sports program is synonymous with excellence, as is ESPN.” said Peter Remington, VP/Market Manager for Cumulus Media of Houston, in a statement. “And we are committed to bring to the Houston alumni base of fans the best, uninterrupted play by play in town.”

This makes ESPN 97.5 the only place to hear coverage of Longhorns Football and Men’s Basketball starting with the 2011 – 2012 Season. The release says this is a five year agreement and includes all regular and post season football and men’s basketball games, as well as other select Texas events.

“We will provide the University of Texas and their loyal, passionate fans the atmosphere they deserve for a long time to come," says ESPN 97.5 program director Dave Tepper.

Cumulus Houston also owns 104.1 KRBE and 103.7 KHJK.

SportsRadio 610 KILT has been the home of UT Longhorns sports radio.
