There are always those folks you work with in the TV biz who are truly "characters" and extremely good at their job. That was photographer Scott Goldsmith when I was at KIAH 39. A great shooter, super fast editor, live truck operator, newsroom mentor and overall great guy.
Now Goldsmith is moving to Dania Beach, Florida (near Fort Lauderdale) to work at Vista Satellite as the director of technical operations. He will oversee the facility and all of its equipment. Will he have to wear a tie now? Sure sounds like it!
Goldsmith is a New York guy and had previously worked at WABC 7 and WPIX 11.
He only worked at KIAH 39 for 18 months, but had been a Tribune employee for 13 years (WPIX is a Tribune station).
"KIAH was a nice place to work, it was a family-like atmosphere and I will miss the people," Goldsmith told the mikemcguff.com blog.
Congrats Scott!
