NBC 5 KXAS anchor Jane McGarry gets shifted

Don't look for KXAS NBC 5 anchor Jane McGarry to bring you the DFW 10pm news anymore. It was announced today that her duties are being scaled back a big:

Jane McGarry will co-anchor NBC 5 News at 5 p.m., Monday-Friday, effective Friday, February 12 coinciding with the first day of the XXI Winter Olympics broadcast on NBC. McGarry will continue to co-anchor NBC 5 News at 6 p.m. Mike Snyder will co-anchor both newscasts.

Meredith Land will join Brian Curtis to co-anchor NBC 5 News at 10 p.m., Monday-Friday. Curtis has been in the 10 p.m. anchor chair since July 2009, and Land has excelled in numerous anchor and reporter assignments since joining NBC 5 in 2003. READ THE REST

Sound familiar? Yeah it happened last July to her co-anchor Mike Snyder. In this media environment, they should still be happy to have jobs all of these years actually. Many anchors across the country have "retired" or been told to leave within the last year.
