But now Jeanne Jakle says a bigger figure could be coming to sit in that San Antonio anchor chair. Yes, current ABC newsman Jim Avila:
I'm told Avila, the senior law and justice correspondent for ABC News — as well as newsmagazines "Primetime" and "20/20" — recently auditioned for the main anchor job and KENS bosses were very high on him.
That's the buzz around KENS anyway. When I called the station for official confirmation, management didn't return my call. Avila also has family in San Antonio. His brother, Jaie Avila, co-anchors "News 4 San Antonio Today," the morning program on competitor WOAI. READ THE REST
Network reporters coming to Texas to anchor must be catching on. Jakle says the decision could be reached in the next few weeks.
