More from a KTRH news release on Lana Hughes and J.P. Pritchard KTRH-AM Morning News Team:

KTRH’s Lana Hughes and JP Pritchard have been inducted into the Texas Radio Hall of Fame. They are among the stars of the 2009 class, and they join the ranks of The Big Bopper, Dan Rather, Wolfman Jack, Bob Schieffer, and Walter Cronkite. The Texas Radio Hall of Fame recognizes and honors excellence in radio broadcasting.

Having just celebrated 25 years as the morning news duo in May, this is a big honor for the pair. They are believed to be the longest-serving radio news team in America.

KTRH is the heritage news radio station in Texas, having been a part-time home to Walter Cronkite, as well as the starting point for Dan Rather, Wayne Dolcefino, Doug Miller, Stephen Dean, Robert Arnold, Jim Nantz, Ed Brandon, and many more.

Through it all, “Lana and JP” have been the staple of the morning radio landscape in Houston. They are currently enjoying very high ratings, as good as ever. “Lana and JP are as good as they’ve ever been, and they get better every day,” said Houston market manager Eddie Martiny. “They’re just now starting to hit their stride. We think they have at least 25 more great years to inform and entertain Houstonians.”
