There is an article in in the New York Times which has been getting a lot of buzz around the Internet. It's called More Channels Are Coming. Will Anyone Be Watching?
This centers around the fact that local TV stations have extra digital channels and need to put something on them. Some stations opt for local programming, while others outsource the shows.
Enter the .2 Digital Network. A company that provides content for these .2 digital channels. From the looks of the web site, the network will air movies and old shows. So far in Texas, it will only be available in Houston on KHOU and in San Antonio on KSAT. Looking on the site, I found it hard to locate many other affiliates at this point.
We'll see if this concept is the wave of the future or will suffer the fate of the older companies named in the NY Times article.
