Whitney Casey leaves KHOU for KNTH

UPDATE 1/2009
Whitney Casey: From KHOU to sex expert?

Whitney Casey of Great Day Houston is leaving KHOU Channel 11 and the show behind to write a book called Manopoly. Heck, I already told you that.

Casey is saying her goodbyes in her Houston Chronicle relationship column. Let the tears flow (look at the photo).

But I think the real news is at the bottom of her column where it says the following:

You will now be able to listen to Whitney Casey on her radio talk show, Relationships with Whit, on KNTH, 1070 AM, 6-8 p.m. Saturdays and Sundays.

I can honestly say I've never seen anyone leave a TV show to write a book and have a weekend AM radio show...at least not her young age. Will guests pay to be on her new show too?

More Houston Chronicle coverage of Whitney's last show where she dropped one final shocker:

One final confession from Casey: While living in New York, she always had six men in the mix.
"I had one on the East Side, one on the West Side and four downtown," she said. "But you can't get away with that in Houston. The guys are too nice here for that."

Wow and here I thought it was impressive that I had six blog readers! Good luck Whitney.

  1. I'm glad she thinks Houston men are so nice and dumb that she won't juggle them.

  2. and who would take relationship advice from this chick? she seems like a wannabe, a poseur, a loser...

my bet in real life she's nuttier than a fruitcake.

  3. I caught that "KHOU is a dysfunctional family" comment on her last show that leads me to believe her contract was not renewed by KHOU, in other words she was fired.
Good luck Whit in whatever you find next.
Yep, Texas IS different from NYC isnt it?

  4. Whitney has been a bright spot in my day. I watched her when I was visiting my sister in Houston and have been tuning in to the segments on the internet ever since back here in the Detroit area. After a hard day at work, I look forward to having her bring a smile to my face. She will definitely be missed and will be hard to replace!

  5. The truth of who 'Whitney Casey' is, as a person/woman, finally surfaces, as per her 'men' in NYC,...as if you couldn't have already figured that out after the past two years of what she had on her GDH show and all the tattoo'd loosers, mostly black, as bachelors of the week. She had to be fired by KHOU, why else would you keep a Sleeze Ball like her at the helm. Casey, do everybody in Houston a favor, and move back to NYC with all the other immoral trash. But, Remember Casey, 'You Are Not A Blonde!'Just a bleached blonde! A Fake! Idiot!

  6. Tramping, trolling and juggling six men on the streets of New York simultaneously does not make her an expert on Men and relationships. Men aren't half as stupid and shallow as she's often suggested. She's an "old maid" because all men she encounters sense her lack of sincerety and being a true lady. There are women we marry, and there are women we...well, you know. Manopoly? She's game, we're not. The joke is on her. And that unoriginal "Samantha from Sex & City" look...goodbye and good riddance.

  7. Cannot say I am sorry to see the blonde airy head leave. I did not like the fact that KHOU could not find a native Texan to host a Great Day Houston show. Her attitude about Bush and her flaunting of all her "connections" was too much for me to stomach. I tuned out a long time ago on her.

  8. I'm mostly indifferent to the departure of Whitney, although I think she was a better host than the one they have now. Anyway, there seems to be so much hatred in this comment section. Some of you need to relax. It's not like she's been terrorizing you every day. She hosted a trivial morning talk show; nothing life-threatening. So, again, relax before you give yourself a heart attack

  9. all i can say is THANK GOD... i moved to Houston last June and when i first got here, i was flipping channels looking for a show that WB does called "The Daily Buzz" but for some reason it's not on the air here. Instead i find this ridiculous blonde, Whitney Casey, hosting what could have been an okay morning show if it weren't for the fact that SHE was the host! i tried to give it a chance but just could not stand her so i moved on to Regis and Kelly. Maybe now that she's gone i will give Great Day Houston another chance.

  10. Just read Whitney's column in the Chronicle. 90% of it was about what the Osteen gang think about dating and picking the right one. Ever heard of Plagerism??? Oh gooody gooody. Next week her column will have them again. YAWN..What's the matter Whitney, can't think of anything on your own? Watch who you pick to adore. All sermons are copied from a library of self help books. And you want to write another??Bye bye...

  11. I didn't know we had so many unkind people in Houston. If you found Casey so disagreeable, why didn't you simply change the channel?

  12. I enjoyed watching her on the show, she was refreshing and I liked her energy, the other host, the one with dark hair, just seems un-natural and nervous. I don't think Debra Duncan should be the host either, I just felt her smile was fake, and I had heard she is actually snobby in person. Anyway, I tried to watch Great Day a few times, but with out Whitney, it just seemed boring. Why did she get fired anyway? I liked her and wish her the best of success in her future.

  13. I am definitely glad to see Casey move on. I never connected with her. But Debra Duncan for a replacement??? Are you kidding??

KHOU went from one extreme to the other. And while I am writing this comment, the show has dredged up Jan Glen for a segment. Puleeez.

KHOU needs an Ann Curry type to make this show a success. Good luck finding one.

  14. Whitney was a breath of fresh air, always with a genuine smile on her face. I really miss her. I'm surprised people are so negative.

  15. Didn't Debra Duncan already host a morning show that tanked? Whitney was uniquely refreshing - not as 'dumb' as some are posting here. When I first tuned in I thought 'oh what a ditz' but after a few shows I was hooked on her quirky humor.....refreshing and a positive note after the morning news! I am disappointed to see her leave.

  16. Whitney Casey needs to find another career.

  17. Duh I think she did-what are all of these comments about? Live and let live. Life's too short.

  20. Hey I happen to meet her and she is not ditzy at all. Very down to earth, intelligent person. She will do great in what ever she does. Here is some advise, change the channel, you sound like such a joy.

  21. I loved to watch GDH with Whitney. What's the matter with all you hicks that you can't recognize young, energetic, talent? I could not stand to watch KHOU news in the a.m. because of Debra Duncan and now she's on one of my much watched shows. Sorry, I haven't watched it since.
I agree if you didn't like it then change the channel, but quit your whining and move on.

  22. Another dumb white ho gets a show, for what? What ever happened to just talent?

  23. i worked for her on this show. She's one of the strongest, smartest and driven people I've ever met.

  24. Debra is a local and that is great. I just wish someone would help her with her hair and wardrobe. She may be taken more seriously if she looked more professional.
