Dallas TV anchor Cynthia Izaguirre famous on YouTube

WFAA Channel 8 in Dallas has a new anchor and she is famous online - especially on YouTube reports the Dallas Morning News:

The name Cynthia Izaguirre may not be instantly recognizable, but if you're one of the hundreds of thousands of people who have viewed her clip on YouTube.com, you will recognize her face – hey, that's the "But, he's gay" lady.

"It's funny when you put it that way, but I am internationally famous," says Ms. Izaguirre (pronounced "ee-sah-GEE-reh"), who, starting today, takes Jackie Hyland's place as co-anchor on Channel 8's Daybreak, 5 to 7 a.m. weekdays. "Since that video went up on YouTube, I've gotten hundreds of e-mails from all over the world from people thanking me for making them laugh."

That video is the infamous 10 seconds from a newscast 6 1/2 years ago when Ms. Izaguirre was co-anchoring the morning news for KOAT-TV, the ABC affiliate in Albuquerque, N.M. In it, Ms. Izaguirre teases an upcoming story on a man who climbed Mount Everest. "But," she says, pausing dramatically, "he's gay." After an awkward stammer, she says, "I mean, he's blind."
