Restaurant reviews: Indika, Bread Winners, Cafe Fino

Murdock is back with Dallas restaurant reviews, plus I have one for Indika in Houston below:

Mrs. Murdock had chicken soup while I dined on turkey meatloaf. The chicken soup Mrs. Murdock ate was quite delicious. At least if the facial expressions are the same as when she sees me after a long, hard day at work, she must have thought the soup was purely (fill in the blank). As for my turkey meatloaf, I thought it was quite interesting.

Well the calzone was huge. I saw I was in a fight for my right to party with all the cheese in the calzone. I ate some of the cheese, but since there was so much I did not eat it all. Less than 35% eaten I would say. As for the hamburger meat, I ate all the morsels I could find within the cheese blobs.
I'm going to slip in a Houston review too. We went to Indika the other night on 516 Westheimer. This is a trendy Indian restaurant and it is hot right now. It's always packed and there is only valet parking. We were seated as soon as we got there but our food took over 45 minutes to get to our table. They were out of their supposedly famous Pineapple Martinis.

I got the duck dish (Duck Breast Vindaloo stuffed with a Spiced Mushroom & Almond Masala, Lemon and Apricot Pilaf) which I really liked but the wife got a vegetable plate she hardly touched - although she did like her soup (Mixed Seafood Mulligatawny). Our dessert was good (Saffron Pistachio Ice Cream).

So overall, if you are really hungry and in a hurry - I would advise to go somewhere else, but if you have time and aren't ravenous, give Indika a try. CONTACT: Leave me a Houston or Texas media news tip | COMMENT: Click to leave your thoughts on this post here
