How John Lennon and Yoko Ono spent time in Houston

So I was watching a 1975 interview that Tom Snyder did with John Lennon on NBC and I heard a Houston mention. It turns out that John and Yoko Ono came to Houston to appear in court.

Here's the scoop from a 1991 Houston Business Journal article with the Houston lawyer on the opposing side (from attorney Donn Fullenweider’s web site):
In a case that drew international attention, he represented the ex-husband of Yoko Ono in a child custody battle over visitation rights. A certain member of a famous band accompanied Ono to the Houston court.

"To meet John Lennon and Yoko at the time was fascinating, although they didn't think much of me at the time because I was on the other side," Fullenweider says.

Across the world, the Tasmanian Journal even covered the child custody flap, he recalls.

"I'm not used to that kind of notoriety," Fullenweider says.
This event must of been featured in a TV movie that came out in 1985 about the couple. The credits list the characters of a Houston magistrate and lawyer. CONTACT: Leave me a Houston or Texas media news tip | COMMENT: Click to leave your thoughts on this post here
