A gun pointed at me on The Spur 527
It was like a showdown on the old west, except I didn't have a radar gun myself. Heck, what's more western than driving down a stretch of road called "The Spur 527?"
But as talked about on blogHOUSTON, the police are out in force on this reopened road going into/leaving downtown. My story took place last Friday heading outbound to Highway 59. Suddenly everyone in front of me started slowing down and pulling over into the far left lane - the lane I happened to be in. Why? A fine member of HPD's traffic enforcement division was on the side of the road with a big fat radar gun pointed at us. Yikers.
Since there were a lot of cars ahead of me, I had a good shield.
The moral of this story, slow down on The Spur, because Houston is not the old west anymore and it is a shoot out you will lose!

You weren't racing a Chevy Blazer with your Lincoln pimp-mobile down the I-35 service road?
Not this time!
