I gobbled up T-day weekend like Basquiat does a lost door on the street

So Thanksgiving came and went and I worked on both Thursday and Friday. Don't worry they did feed us Turkey for lunch on Thursday. You just know going into TV you probably will work some holidays.

My wife and I saw a lot of friends over the weekend. Sonia was in from Los Angeles fresh from her new job at ProMax. We also saw newlyweds Mark and Lauren Brown. Lauren by the way is from a family that has deep roots in Texas.

Saturday we went to the Museum of Fine Arts and caught the Jean-Michel Basquiat exhibit. DJ Spooky was there on the turn tables which was amazing. Forget vinyl, he actually was scratching with CDs! It was a change of pace for the usually quiet, sterile museum. Instead it came alive with pounding dance music and crazy projections on the walls. They even were serving drinks!

Basquiat's work is good by all over the place. He had the focus of a child. A very ADD child. I did enjoy his works, but strangely enough, I did kind of find the pulsating electronic music a little distracting at first. Eventually I got used to it. Don't worry, if you don't like a DJ while viewing art, this is a special Saturday night event only. Overall it was a cool experience and DJ Spooky is an amazing DJ.

Ran into two high school friends, Toto and Jay. They were in town recording a new record for their band. Not sure if it was for their band Woozy Helmet or Toto's other gig The Octopus Project.
