On August 13, 2026, 95.7 The Fan KIKK took over The Spot KKHH, and here is the audio of the format change.
The above video is the station flip, featuring a montage of previous 95.7 formats, including KIKK country, from which the FM sports-talk station is adopting its new call letters.
95.7 The Spot continues to air on 95.7 HD3, 957thespot.com or on other streaming platforms.
95.7 HD 2 is now 650 AM, so Channel Q moves to 96.5 HD 2, the former home of HarD Rock 96-5 HD2.
In the final hour of the station, a voice guy, not Grego, read the following statement:
"That was Prince, 'Let's Go Crazy.' That was the first song ever played on 95.7 The Spot, and it is now the final song in this chapter of 957.
A decade ago, The Spot was just a dream, but after months of planning and a lot of luck, The Spot was born just in time to ring in 2017. Honestly, we were hoping to maybe make it a year or two if we were lucky. We had no idea what Houston would think about a radio station that played so many different kinds of music.
Well, H-Town, your reaction was greater than we could have ever imagined. In less than a year, the spot went from nowhere to the top of the ratings. In fact, there's even a station in Dallas that copied our name and logo. Oh, Dallas twice the other floods, hurricanes, a derecho. Even an ice storm. And we finally got to see our Astros win the World Series twice.
Through it all, you let us be the soundtrack to your life. And for that, we will be forever grateful. Now, as the second most listened-to radio station in H-Town and the 25th most listened-to radio station in the entire U.S., it's time for us to open the next chapter. While we will move on from this channel, the spot lives on, and it's not hard to find us.
