Cleo Greene joins NBC 5 DFW

Cleo Greene announced she is joining NBC 5 KXAS Dallas - Fort Worth's lifestyle show Texas Today, which airs weekdays at 11:30am.

Here is what Greene posted on social:

"I have a BIG announcement! I’m the new host of @nbctexastoday.

I’ve been here for 2 weeks now and I AM LOVING IT. The Texas Today team is top notch and my cohost @adrianalopeztv has welcomed me with open arms.

Thank YOU. Cheers to a BIG new beginning, a much-needed detour from hard news and a chance to share new people, places and things that bring us together and bring us JOY. Xo

PLEASE TUNE IN FOR MY FIRST DAY ON AIR | MONDAY AT 11:30 A.M. ON NBC CHANNEL 5"

Greene will co-host Texas Today with Adriana Lopez and replace former host Kristin Dickerson, who left in December 2024.

Greene's new TV gig is going to please many of my Metroplex readers, who were very upset by her recent dismissal as WFAA anchor.

In January 2025, Greene announced she was exiting her weekend morning anchor role at WFAA 8 DFW as her position was being eliminated. Her final newscast aired on Saturday, February 1, 2025. According to what Greene said and industry chatter, the WFAA weekend morning newscast sounds like it is being phased out.

Weekend morning meteorologist Kyle Roberts recently departed from WFAA as well.

A self-described military brat, Greene joined WFAA in January 2018 after working as a KSTP-TV 5 Eyewitness News reporter in the Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul area from February 2015 to January 2018.

Before that, she was a reporter at WBOC TV16 in Salisbury, Maryland, from October 2011 to February 2015. Earlier in her career, she reported for WRDW News 12 / NBC 26 in Augusta, Georgia, from February 2011 to October 2011.

Greene’s broadcasting journey began in January 2009 as a feature reporter and anchor for PBS in St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands.

She is a graduate of Rowan University.

In February 2023, Greene welcomed her son, Conrad.
