RadioGalveston launches online

New Online Radio Station Brings Galveston Lifestyle, Music and Events to the World

Today streaming accounts for nearly 80% of all Internet traffic and 75% of US Households stream audio each week. This huge increase in streaming is why the founder of RadioGalveston chose streaming as the primary platform over traditional terrestrial media.

“There was no Radio station serving Galveston, focusing strictly on the Island” commented RadioGalveston.com founder Jim O’Neill. “There is so much happening on the Island - art, culture, food, music and events. Streaming allows us to share all that is Galveston not only with the Houston area, but worldwide.”

RadioGalveston.com is available on any tablet, smart speaker, mobile device or computer browser at RadioGalveston.com and already has had listeners from nearly every state in the USA and six countries.

“Our goal is to provide a little something for everyone” said O’Neill. “We have an upbeat music mix in the mornings, an Island beach sound during the day and 70’s at 7pm, 80’s at 8pm and harder rock after 9pm with Pirate Radio Galveston. There is so much great music out there that isn’t being played any more, so we get into many different genres, even digging up a nugget of buried treasure every hour, and updates on Galveston events.”

RadioGalveston was launched by the Galveston Experience Company which also serves as the studio location at 15 th and Seawall, midway between Stewart Beach and the Pleasure Pier.

O’Neill has been involved in media, broadcasting and syndication since 1975 in both on-air and broadcast management roles, and was named Billboard Magazine “Personality of the Year”.

“We’ve only just begun to build out our program schedule” O’Neill continued. “We’re looking to add a local music show, more live event broadcasts and more elements to truly be a mirror to the Island lifestyle.”

RadioGalveston.com also produces a weekly podcast which features weekly Island events as well as interviews with local businesses and Islanders.
