Alan Harwell retires, Larissa Liska joins KRIS 6 Corpus Christi


Alan Harwell is calling it a TV career, retiring from KRIS 6 Corpus Christi has sports director on July 28, 2022.  He was with the station since June 2013.

Harwell returns to work for the Texas A&M Kingsville sports department where he graduated in 1983 when it was called Texas A&I University.

He has been covering Coastal Bend sports since age 15 when he started at KRYS Radio Corpus Christi.

Over the years he has worked for KIII Corpus and stations in Victoria, Longview-Tyler and Youngstown, Ohio.



Taking over as the KRIS sports director position after Harwell is Larissa Liska who is joining from NewsChannel 10 KFDA Amarillo, TX where she held the same role.

Working for KRIS is a homecoming for Liska who was raised in Three Rivers, a small town in between San Antonio and Corpus Christi.

In fact she will be back covering her alma mater George West High School which led her to the University of Texas at Austin where she interned for FOX 7 KTBC and KUT Radio.

After graduating from UT, Liska worked as a:


- News Reporter/MMJ for News Leader 9 WTVM Columbus, Georgia

- Sports Anchor/MMJ WLTZ NBC 38 and The CW GA-BAMA Columbus, Georgia

- Sports director for WBKB 11 Alpena, Michigan

- KSAT 12 San Antonio sports producer
