KHOU 11 to air "The Program: Pearland Oilers"

KHOU sports maestro Daniel Gotera tweeted an interesting trailer for a show that will air this weekend on channel 11.

It appears to be like an HBO Hard Knocks for high school football.

In The Program: Pearland Oilers, Gotera and the KHOU team offer a behind the scenes look at the Texas HS football experience.

"I wanted to present high school sports in a way that has never been seen in Houston," Gotera told mikemcguff.com. "We see highlights and player commitments all the time, but an inside look at what it takes to get ready for an entire season? That's something truly unique and this show captures every second of it."

This reality-show like football experience airs Saturday @ 7 pm on KHOU 11.

"It's been an idea I've had for many years, but finally got the support to put it together," Gotera added. "The show will display the heart, determination and grit shown by not just the players but by the coaches as well as they overcome several obstacles that were completely unexpected. It's a an entertaining ride for any high school sports fan and by the end...you'll want more."
