Telemundo Houston honored with 13 Lone Star Emmy® Awards

Telemundo Houston was recognized with Lone Star Emmy® Awards including the top honor of “Overall Excellence”


HOUSTON, TX – (November 14, 2017) – The Lone Star Chapter of the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences awarded Telemundo Houston / KTMD 13 Lone Star Emmy® Awards during the 15th Annual Lone Star Emmy® Awards Gala held on Friday, November 11 in San Antonio, Texas.

Telemundo Houston took home several awards including the night’s highest honor: “Overall Excellence.” The station’s consumer investigative unit, Telemundo Houston Responde, was recognized with five awards including an award in the “Talent – Reporter – Investigative” category for Crystal Ayala’s excellence in investigative reporting. KTMD’s coverage leading up to Super Bowl LI was honored with two awards including “Continuing Coverage” and “Technical Achievement.”

Additionally, Telemundo Houston’s sports program “Domina La Acción En La Prepa” received their second consecutive win in the “Sports Daily or Weekly Program” category. The Hurricane preparedness special “El Golfo En Alerta” was awarded an EMMY® in the category “Weather Program Special or Feature.” To watch the two-part special in Spanish, click here and here.
