KTRK abc13 dominated January 2017 flood coverage

The overnight results (provided to me by KTRK) from the January 18, 2017 flood event show abc13 winning the Live Same Day Nielsen ratings in every time slot for the Adults 25-54 and Women 25-54 demographics.

Some hours, channel 13 had a very healthy lead over all the other Houston TV stations.

KTRK delivered wall-to-wall coverage starting at four that morning, going all the way through noon.

  1. Brita's good but, unlike Frank at 10PM, her weather can't carry an entire newscast's ratings, especially severe weather when viewers don't want to deal with the traffic dolt and the off script chain smoker who wears Donchey and Sachse's eyeglasses.

    1. i think Mike from Fox26 is terrific at weather. I can't take Frank's dramatic delivery. Every report is about how it's not over, worse not here yet, training this and that, we're the bullseye blah blah blah.

Brita's forecast is always mostly cloudy when I'm around. Damn that second hand smoke....

  2. Now that KHOU's Token Tomboy is about to go on maternity leave, they may compete for #1 Weather in the mornings if another serious weather event occurs.
KRIV's weather coverage sucks (although Melissa is a pro) and KPRC's weather is pretty good (but the others on that channel keep battling for air time to speak their nonsense, it's just too difficult to bear their weather reports).

    1. You better pray Chita doesn't see this.

Chita definitely sucks plenty....but it's the supporting cast on KHOU that really stinks up the joint. Darby is an ass clown...and it's been doom and gloom ever since my willy can no longer see Lily Jang in the AM.

  3. Agreed that 13 had the best weather coverage with the most live shots and most accurate weather reports. 2 did an OK job as did KHOU with Brooks picking up the slack from Chita who has no business covering severe weather. Fox kept going live from Meyerland Plaza with nothing really happening there, and they pretty much dropped the ball as "The Gulf Coast Weather Authority."
