KHOU employees getting buyout offer from TEGNA

Longtime KHOU employees offered voluntary TEGNA buyout package

UPDATE APRIL 21, 2016
Mario Gomez & others to leave KHOU 11

UPDATE APRIL 10, 2016
Doug Miller leaving KHOU 11 after 23 years

Sources tell me that longtime KHOU employees are being offered voluntary buyouts by parent company TEGNA.

That means we might see large groups of folks leaving the Houston CBS affiliate including familiar on air faces.

From what I hear, offers have gone out based on age (55) and years worked at the station (15 years). Those who take the offer could get a certain payment for each year of service.

As you might imagine some employees are excited about the offer, others concerned.

We'll see who starts leaving within the next month or so.

Other Houston stations have had the same type of offers for employees in the past.
