Here I thought Ashley Johnson would be the only new Fox 26 KRIV reporter mentioned on the blog this week, and then Hilary Whittier sneaks into Houston on me and starts on air! See where blogging hubris gets you...

As you can see in her above tweet earlier this week, Whittier is so new to H-town, she is not totally clear on how to spell some of the cities in our coverage area - but I'm sure she is a quick learner after working in TV market numero uno. Quick, someone in the KRIV newsroom needs to tell her how to pronounce Kuykendahl!

Whittier, comes from KIAH 39 Tribune sister station WPIX in New York. According to tunedinnyc.com, she worked with Fox 26 assistant news director Howard Dorsey at WPIX.

A quick check of Whittier's LinkedIn profile tells us she worked at WPIX for around two years. Before that she was a reporter/anchor at KNDU, the NBC affiliate which serves south-central and southeastern Washington state according to Wikipedia.

This is a return to the Lone Star State for Whittier since her profile also says she has a journalism and psychology degree from Texas Christian University. With a degree like that, she's going to have those Fox 26 photogs figured out after long car trips.

You can watch Whittier's demo tape embedded below.
