I've seen lots of people move on from the TV news world over the years, but former KPRC 2 special projects producer Tracy Hatfield wins when it comes to creativity.
A few months ago, she left the station, packed up her stuff and hit the road in a vintage 1969 Shasta Travel Trailer.

"Who am I? Well, if I knew that I would probably be a little further along than I am now. But I am a 40-year-old single woman who took a look around and thought there has to be more to life than this. Not being married, not having kids and staying in the same place doing the same thing I have done for the last 14 years. My job is cool, my family is great but I just want to do more, see more, matter more. So I am hitting the road. After almost 2 decades, in the TV News Biz I need a palate cleanser. I need to do some good and wash away all of the death and ugly parts of the world I have watched cross my desk for what seems like forever. So here is the plan, I am going to spend a month somewhere working with a charity group doing something good. Then I am going to pack up and roll on to another charity somewhere doing something good for another 30 days. I am going to keep doing this until I have no money left, or feel I once again have something to offer or say or just get tired of being a “saint”. I may even write about it… but probably more likely I will write about them, the real saints who are not doing it because they are looking for something, but because they have something to give."

UPDATE
Hatfield just got hired at NBC 5 WMAQ as the morning executive producer (called day part managers there). She joins fellow ex-KPRC Daniella Guzman at the station.
