KHOU 11 grabs Doug Delony from Fox 26 KRIV

Doug Delony
KHOU 11, Houston’s CBS affiliate, announced that Doug Delony will join the station’s news and digital team on Monday, July 9.

“We’re very impressed with Doug’s skills in television news as well as his expertise with social media,” says KHOU Executive News Director Philip Bruce. “He’s the complete package—someone who really gets how to take our broadcasting product and give it a whole new life on social media platforms.”

Born and raised in Houston, Doug Delony graduated cum laude from Texas Southern University with a bachelor's degree in broadcast journalism.

Doug is also a graduate of the Hightower High School Media Academy in Fort Bend ISD. During his time at Hightower, Doug won a Telly Award for a video essay he produced following 9/11.

During college, Doug served as a production assistant for a number of popular television shows including Entertainment Tonight, Access Hollywood and Extreme Makeover.

It was 2006 when Doug's love for computers, the Internet, and social networking helped launch his television career at Fox 26 KRIV. Known to viewers as "My Tech Guy,” Doug interacted with viewers both on and off the air – sharing tech news, tips and highlighting viral content of the day. While at KRIV, he also served as the station's Senior Web Producer.

“KHOU.com has a history of award-winning work including the 2012 Regional Edward R. Murrow and 2012 Texas Associated Press Awards for Best Website. Doug’s contributions will be a great addition to our high performing team,” says Christine Di Stadio, Director of Digital Media.
