740 KTRH's Samantha Jordan leaves for WDBO 96.5

Samantha Jordan, the on-air web reporter for 740 KTRH, is leaving the station after two years.

She's heading to WDBO 96.5 as a reporter and anchor in Orlando, FL.

"I’ve got all my friends and family there and it feels great to be able to have this opportunity to work with an amazing news station in the city I grew up in," Jordan told me in an email. "I appreciate all that KTRH has done for me. They brought me to a major market where I learned valuable lessons and I will miss the team that I’ve worked with every day."

It was reported in late May that Jordan was leaving Houston, but that was retracted. She says the deal was not "set in stone yet" at that point.

Jordan's last day will be June 26th.

  1. What is happening at KTRH? This is the third person they've lost in less than a month.

  2. Why is she staying in radio? Samantha is one of the most naturally gorgeous media woman I've had the pleasure to meet. Very classy and down to earth. I hope she heads for Entertainment Tonight.

  10. I was never a fan of this girl until a couple of months ago when I met her in a grocery store and saw her defend a mentally disabled kid that some jerks were making fun of. Not one adult said anything to these teenagers that were loudly imitating a disabled kid in line. She jumped in and tore these two guys a new one. I went up to her afterwards and said thank you. She turned out to be one of the funniest, most charasmatic people I had ever met. Good luck, Samantha! You're too pretty for radio tho

  11. This girl is top notch. Intelligent, funny, and beautiful. Although I respect her for leaving in a classy way, I wonder if it had anything to do with the TV opportunities being thrown her way that KTRH ruined for her. My station particularly wanted to work with her on projects that would raise her profile and she wasn't 'allowed to.' Glad to hear she'll be on TV in Orlando. Bad for Houston though.

  12. You people obviously don't know her very well. She'll turn on you on a dime, has blasted her co-workers and company on FB and tells everyone and anyone who will listen how much she hates Houston. This market is much better off without this poser.

    1. Sam's got haters because she sticks up for herself and doesn't let people walk all over her. I know for a fact that a loser she dated at KTRH likes to troll these blogs and talk crap about her under different names. I've had a problem with him in the past too. She's a great girl who speaks her mind and people hate that.

  15. I really wish Matt would go and the others would stay. Guaranteed this is Matt's doing. I can't stand him or his violent viewpoints.
