KPRC 2 reporter Hasti Taghi leaves station

After two years with KPRC 2, reporter Hasti Taghi left the station last week. This past weekend Taghi tweeted:

"My 1st Saturday off in 10 months... Began w a ZaSpa massage, walk around the neighborhood, fall decorating, football and Broadway tonight :)"

She ended her time with the Post-Newsweek station by tweeting the following quotes during the month of October:

"It starts with a dream of who I can be. Wherever it takes me, I can wait so I'm gonna hold on tight."

Taghi has been teasing her Facebook followers she will announce a new career decision soon.

According to Taghi's KPRC bio, she started her career at KIDK-TV in Idaho Falls. Previous to that as a University of Texas student, she was part of Texas Newswatch, The Longhorn Pulse and KVR News. She interned at KXAN-TV and News8Austin.

"One time during a live shot, an angry protestor started charging toward me, waving his sign and yelling at me to be quiet," Taghi stated in her bio. "I thought he was going to beat me up! It was so difficult to hold my composure, but someone came to my rescue and held him back while I finished my report."

In Janurary of 2010, Taghi told mikemcguff.com about her Houston roots, "A.Taghi is owned and run by my dad and his brothers. We have A.Taghi Fine Clothing, A.Taghi Custom Homes and A.Taghi Persian Rugs. It is sooo nice to be back home. I couldn't be happier about the move to Houston and about reporting for my own community. I care about Houstonians and feel like everyone is my neighbor. What a great city to live in... I'm glad I left it for a few years to fully understand and appreciate what an amazing place we live in."

Taghi declined comment for this post.
