The future of TV news is technology

Like I really need to tell you that the future of TV news is less dependent on people and more focused on technology. That is pretty obvious.

But just what are these new technologies? And how will they affect the TV jobs of the future?:

There are really only two jobs anymore: content producer and platform manager, [says Thomas Zugmeyer, senior product manager of Dalet Digital Media Systems]. "The newsroom is not a bunch of silos anymore."

"There are no more writers, producers, editors," he says. "The writers/editors are content producers in charge of doing text and video and the platform managers are what might have been called producers before. They are the people who put together the rundown of the news channel and then select the stories that go on the Web, mobile television, taxi television and so on." READ MORE
