Welcome James McGuff to the blog and the world

You might have noticed things have been slow at mikemcguff.com. There is good reason for that. Last week my wife and I welcomed James McGuff into the world!

He was 7 pounds 14 ounces and healthy! Little James has been adjusting to the world nicely. He is starting to sleep more (and so are we).

I actually struggled with how to handle his arrival on the blog - only hinting about him once or twice here. The last thing I wanted to do is become the Kathie Lee Gifford of Houston blogging. In fact I have received a mixed reaction from friends on this topic. Lots of emails have come in asking where his first post is. Others say I should keep him off limits concerning the blog.

Tim Heller 's congrats email made me laugh out loud. Heller said he was proud of my restraint because I DID NOT rush to my blog the day of James' birth to upload my photos. He said my priorities were in the right place. And you know, he is right. Ideally I should be there for my wife and child first before this blog. God must have echoed that sentiment when my computer stopped working the morning of his birth and my iPod Touch would not access the Net even though it was receiving a free and strong signal at the hospital.

But don't worry about the blog. It is here to stay. I went out and bought an MSI Wind Notebook to keep blogging. I'll have a review on it soon. Dwight Silverman advised me to blog about James. He believes the posts will reveal as much to me as they will you. He has a point.
