Chris Baker to KTLK-FM Minneapolis

Where else can you get the latest announcements by Houston media figures? The mikemcguff.com blog of course!

Chris Baker, formerly of NewsRadio 740 KTRH and The 950 KPRC, has informed me that he is heading to the 7-11am shift at KTLK-FM Minneapolis.

Here is the web site. Hey, it may be cold, but at least he leaves the humidity behind! Congrats to Chris Baker.

Wow, great news for Chris but sad news for Houston. We wish him, and his lovely family, all the best as the venture into the cold and snow!

Chris, I really hope you actually do see these comments. I've wanted to express my very best wishes to you since the day you "left." You are sorely missed.

I trust that moving to Minny-sota won't cause you to foresake your Texas roots. If need be, we can strip Michael Berry of his Texas citizenship and give it to you.

Godspeed to you and your family.

Chris,

Minneapolis is a great city. While I love Houston, Mnpls is probably the coolest (no pun intended) city that still maintains the midwestern charm. There is always plenty to do, plenty of culture, warm people and the music industry is much more healthy there than here in Houston. Yes, it's cold there right now, but you can bet it's warmer there than in Fargo. Always look on the bright side of things. Oh, and there's plenty of looney tune liberals there to bash. Good luck!

Well Chris welcome to Minnesota , But don't let the door hit you in the butt when you don't get the ratings.

Chris is an asshole, and always has been.

The previous anonymous poster can take a flying leap.

Chris, you were one of the best talk hosts on Houston radio.

God Bless and best to you and your family.

I will be listening to you on the KTLK-FM stream from time to time.

I just found out that Chris is coming to Minnesota, my home state.

I am really looking forward to it, he seems to have a great reputation.

Welcome to the Midwest Chris!

Hello Chris,
Good move for you, but a very stupid one for KTRH.

When you first came to Houston, I thought you were a little strange. You proved yourself to be a loyal American, and one I would consider to be a Patriot due to your vocal stand against things un-American.

Thanks, Chris, for several years of excellent commentary, witty humor and excellent entertainment.

Best wishes in your new market. Mineapolis-StPaul has a winner on board.

Hello Chris,
I'm so glad i find you and I'm so happy for you and your family.
Your family with you or still in TX?
It is very nice that you continue working on radio.
Her in Houston, 740 without you is SUCK!!!!, after I came back from MOTHER RUSSIA, turn on 740 with MB afternoon show and was shocked, definition of the radio talk show has been change. That was LAST time when I've turned 740:):)
NO MORE!!! Better listen Britney Spears:)
Do you still working on your documentary?
Good luck, Chris.
With great respect,
Your friend Eduard
Listener and frequent caller.

I miss you and Cynthia all the time.
I'm sorry you are moving to the cold.
Hopefully you will be back in Texas some day.

Good luck on your new show in Minneapolis, Chris! I think it bites the big one that you will no longer be here in Houston to make our afternoons more enjoyable. I guess I have to start listening to those FM stations again.

Chris , you were awesome here in Houston and the first time I heard you have someone " turn up your radio sir "
well, I nearly crashed my car laughing so hard
I sent of a tirade to 950 & 740 when I realized you weren't there
anyway thanks for all the hours of entertainment

Chris, A heartfelt congraulations to you and your wonderful family. It is a sad day when a absolute idiot pompas a** like Michael Berry can ruin Talk Radio in Houston. Listening to you each afternoon was one of the highlights of my day. I no longer listen to KTRH in the afternoon, but at first for a few days I listened because due to disbelief. Michael Berry is rude and condesending to callers, tries to be funny but comes off sounding like the red neck hick he his from Orange Texas. We should start a "Michael Berry Go Back To Orange" campaign.

Good luck, Chris. We will miss you here in H-town.

Oh man! I almost threw up when I learned you were gone from KTRH. I was out of town on business for a couple of weeks, I come back, and no Chris. Nor the day after nor the day after. Then I realized that idiot Michael Berry was in your time slot. I can't stand that moron. Then you and Cynthia weren't on........what a drag. I miss you, Chris! I love what you had to say, miss your humor. Michael Berry is a moron. I hope to hear your show online. Hope your wife and your boys are doing well and will be praying for all of you.

I was pissed when Pat Gray was unceremoniously dismissed. And then I went to white-hot seething anger when the bumbling and dull Michael Berry took over the time slot. And then the final insult was the firing of Chris Baker. If it wasn't for Savage I would never again listen to 950 in this lifetime. They screwed over conservative female listeners with all their redneck bullshit. My family and close talk-radio junkie friends have switched to 700 AM.

Good luck to you, Chris on your new job, locale, and your upcoming movie. YAHOO! SHAMON!

I miss the 'Guess That Debris' game, too. :( Sad. On a happy note, though, Sam Malone got the boot, too. Oh man, I never thought a guy with a decent FM morning show could be so dang boring in a talk radio format.

Hey Chris!!!!
OMG we miss you in Houston.....I sent that silly Michael Berry an email to say "since you can't muck with the city of Houston any more, you decided to muck with the radio stations...you have lost me as a listener. Can I listen to your show online?
Thanks!

I will never forget the show about the guy suing the hospital over his circumcision...I had to pull over. Love ya, Man!

Chris,

I contacted KTRH after you were no longer on the air to protest. I was a long time listener and I haven't been back to KTRH! I should have called in to your show all those times instead of just screaming at the radio :)

Chris had classic moments of comedy and insight but he could settle into repetition too and stay there for hours. Savage goes off on killing all the Arabs or why don't we kill all the Arabs instead of Tibet/Darfur or anyone who is stupid and so on but hr id more varied and not the 1 D mindset and while I loved Chris being all horned up after sex with his wife going on and on about the hot young chicks, the strippers who never got to bang him, his mother in law finally leaving him alone so he could bang his wife, his description of the room where the dirty deeds all take place (boy that must be scary) and fatties (or is that blunts?) you know sometimes his show was unlistenable over the same things being said over and over again. And the Twang callers agreeing with him. Albeit when he got annoyed by Glenn or went off on chicks and the feminist would call he was gold. Or he'd argue with the liberal trying to screw him up or the angry brother and then he was great. I wish him great success in Minnasota and I will add a few of the podcasts to my iPod to hear when I walk my dog around the Z-D Erotica hood of Houston. I hope he gets to be a rock jock and live out his fantasies with strippers and recount his days with the fatties ad then I guess he will have to go home and pretend with his wife so she doesn't kill him. And I hope that many women call him a gross pig and the brothers are more angry with him than in Houston. Good luck Chris.

Chris Baker, you were the best thing on radio. I loved listening to you anytime, anywhere. How could the management let one of the most popular hosts go?

I don't listen to the radio anymore, I listen to my IPOD.

This asshole was fired by Clear Channel for insulting to this listeners.
We told them that Texas was not for him
I am glad that that he is out

I THINK YOUR SHOW IS REALLY GOOD SOMETIME AND OTHER TIMES YOU ARE SO STUPID AND RUDE SO I WOULD JUST LIKE TO SAY TRY NOT TO BE SO MEAN TO THE CALLER AND STUFF LIKE THAT ALSO LEAVE OBAMA ALONE THANKS

Houston radio has not been the same since the punk Michael Berry took over. I can't stand him. He fired Baker so he could take over his time slot. Michael Berry is a moron who just rants on and on. Since he first came on the radio, he has become more and more smug and an even bigger arsehole. I occasionally listen to Chris's podcasts.
